March wrap up

April 1, 2010

Well it’s the last day of March, here in the city of Ottawa it was the first ever month of March without a single snow fall.  Some are saying El Nino, some are saying that we’ll see snow in April I say ‘whatever’ bring on the beauty of spring.  Because of this blog I’ve taken my camera almost everywhere with me this month.  One of my favourite photographers, Scott Kelby recently wrote a post saying you couldn’t be a good photographer unless you actually bring your camera with you.  So I schlepped it everywhere for the past 10 days.  Mostly I’m catching the kids, but I’ve also managed to play around a bit with some shadows and light, which is something I haven’t done in YEARS.  I’m looking forward to rediscovering a passion for photography since really for the last 7 years or so I’ve been neglecting it.  I can remember as a young 20 something seeing beauty in everything, thinking all the time ‘WOW, I want to capture and remember this sight forever.’  So I’m starting new, a beginner again and this time I’ve got a couple of adorable models at home to help me with inspiration.  Here’s what I thought was beauty this month.  Also note that I haven’t touched these at all, I’m really trying to recapture some of my God given skills through the viewfinder and once I’m feeling a bit more confident I’ll delve into the world of photo touching 🙂

(i know this one is similar to the one above but I just had to give you an extra look at those blue eyes)
