Finished!
Well, I finally finished the Huck Finn pants I was working on for little Xavier’s 2nd birthday party but too bad we didn’t get to go since I suspected Nay has roseola and didn’t feel like infecting a toddler birthday party, boo. But I’m going to share the pants with you anyway because they were a pain in the a** to make but turned out super super cute!
Now, I happen to have a slightly larger two year old model at home but he is so not going to get re-booked with the attitude he was sporting.
They look a bit tight on him, but I assure you it’s just how he was standing. They had quite a lot of baggyness to them and a good amount of space in the waist. That being said, at least for Nay since he wears bulky cloth diapers the rise could have been about another inch longer.
As I mentioned in a previous post, the pattern for these pants were wonky. I mean, something was not right so about halfway through the instructions I totally gave up trying to figure out what the author was talking about and just kind of did my own thing.
While I won’t be making these particular pants again, I will be making something similar for my little Nay. I love that these play pants are short and not just because my little Nay has super short legs but I can’t blame him he gets it from the Irishness in his blood but that’s also where he gets his amazingly crystal blue eyes so I guess I can forgive the Irish. What? Anyway, I think these pants are perfect for indoor playdays and running around, no pant cuffs getting in the way when you’re walking down the stairs is also a plus!
I haven’t given them to Xavier yet but as soon as we can get out to see him I’ll be sure to get a picture of him hopefully he’ll be a more willing model than Nay was.
Hugs,
Jenn
Sorry you had to miss the party but the pants are super cute. You did a great job on them, especially after having to *fly on your own* as the pattern was *wonky*.
Hope Nay is over the bout with roseola.
OMG just too cute!!!! I absolutely love them!! BTW at his B-Day party people were commenting on the great Christmas gift you gave him. A few people will be trying to copy it!!
